Working with small brushes and numerous thin layers, Lillian Forziat's oil paintings embrace a gentle juxtaposition of traditional realism and impressionism. She concentrates on capturing the beauty of everyday subjects in her still-life canvasses, and tranquil vistas in her landscapes and her seascapes. With a style reminiscent of more traditional artists, her paintings strive to capture the subtle essences of both  living and human-fabricated objects in quiescent settings.

A graduate of the State University of New York at Farmingdale and a charter member of The National Museum of Women in the Arts, she is an Associate member of Oil Painters of America (OPA), and the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club (CLWAC). She is a juried member of The Art League of Nassau County, the Art League of Long Island, and of the Floral Park Art League in New York.  She is currently represented by the The Laughing Gull Gallery on Fire Island, NY, the Sunflower Fine Art Gallery in Garden City, NY, and the Christopher Gallery in Stony Brook, NY, all on Long Island.

Her paintings have received numerous awards in exhibitions and shows, and they are included in many private collections throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. Her still-life Orchids & Orientals had been selected for the 2008 OPA National Exhibition and the 2008 112th Annual CLWAC Annual Exhibit of Fine Art at the National Arts Club in New York City. Cherry Blossoms & Tapestry, Coquillages et Tournesols, and Cloisonne Vases & Ivy have each been awarded "Best in Show" honors in recent exhibitions. Many of her pieces have been published as limited edition giclees. She recently received 3rd Place in Oils at the Mystic Outdoor Art Show.
